Dear AMFUF 2017 Participants,
Warm greetings from Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCMC)!
AMFUF 2017 is coming and it is our great pleasure to welcome all of you to UT-HCMC in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam during November 9-11th, 2017. Here are several information we would like to inform prior to your arrival:
It is forecasted that the weather in Ho Chi Minh City during November 9-11th could be rainy sometimes while almost of the time is sunny.
We highly recommend the clothing which is lightweight and made from natural materials such as cotton or linen. Also, it would be essential to bring hats/caps, glasses, and sun cream.
In addition, you are encouraged to bring traditional clothes/ national costumes as there will be a cultural exchange in the farewell dinner of November 10th, 2017. We welcome performances from all participants to make the Farewell Dinner a wonderful celebration. Please register with our Organisation board (email: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org, attention to Ms. Minh) for all arrangement.
3. Airport pick-up:
The transportation from and to the airport is arranged for all the respected guests who have registered. There will be UT-HCMC representatives waiting for you upon arrival at the entrance gate. Our staff, Mr. Nam (phone number +84 962 389 139) and Mr. Anh (phone number +84 164 833 9945), will be there with the sign board of AMFUF 2017 and your delegation names. If there are any problems at the airport, please do not hesitate to contact them for support.
Please send us a.s.a.p your confirm of check-out time at the hotel if you wish to check-out after 12:00. According to the hotel's policy, 30% room charged if check-out is at 3 P.M, 50% room charged if check-out is at 6 P.M and 100% room charged if check-out is after 6 P.M.

Welcome Message from UT-HCMC President
Distinguished guests from AMFUF member institutions,
On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCMC) and as Annual President for the AMFUF 2017, it is
my great pleasure to welcome all of you to the 16 th AMFUF - Asia Maritime and Fisheries Universities Forum, which
will be held at UT-HCMC in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam during November 9-11 th , 2017.
AMFUF was initiated in 2002 by the Korean Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU). Over the past 15 years, its
annual meeting has been hosted alternately by each member institution. While a vast number of friendships has been
built, to make AMFUF as an influential international organization with strong networks among the AMFUF member
institutions, it is necessary to have continuous contribution from all AMFUF members.
AMFUF 2017 welcomes the participation of nearly 20 University and 50 delegates to Ho Chi Minh City Univesrity of
Transport. In addition to discussions on the main theme of “Sustainable and effective shipping and fishery industries”,
I sincerely hope that all AMFUF members can take this opportunity to share ideas and experiences in education and
training, as well as to deepen the collaboration, based on realizing the variety and common things between maritime

AMFUF (Asia Maritime and Fisheries Universities Forum) was founded on 7th November 2002 at the Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) in Busan. It was the first permanent private organization in Asia, currently joined by 24 institutions including KMOU.
The overall objective of this Forum, which is to be held annually, is to promote the academic exchange among the Asian Maritime & Fisheries Education Institutes and to further foster international cooperation on the education and research for the maritime & fisheries experts.
The annual forum will be held in each member’s institution, alternately, for advertising this linkage and activities of the programs to the society all over Asian countries. The sixteenth Annual Forum will be hosted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCMC) in Vietnam on 9-11 November 2017.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT–HCMC), established on 18th May 1988, is the key multi-disciplinary university for educating transport sectors in Vietnam. At present, UT-HCMC has more than 16,000 students in 31 different majors such as maritime, road and railway construction, urban traffic system, transportation, logistics management, etc. at undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
Over the past 30 years, UT-HCMC has been recognized as one of the leading universities in providing education and training for transport sector in Vietnam.
